Please post always the complete error message, not your interpretation of it.

    Version 8 = SQL Server 2000, it's out-of-support since a very long time.

It can be difficult to find a tool that runs on Windows 10 and connects to SQL 2000. I don't think SSMS agree to connect to SQL 2000, but the lower limit is SQL 2005. (I can't test now, because my VM with SQL 2000 blue-screened when I tried to start it.)

To restore a backup from SQL 2000 on SQL 2012 and later, you first need to restore it on SQL 2005 or SQL 2008 and take a new backup, and then you can restore that backup on any later version.

Thank you for your question and reaching out. I can understand you are having query\issues related to

I am afraid due to compatibility issues and due latest security enhancements of TLS and SSL SQL 2000 can not connected to latest versions of Windows.
