Microsoft Store Remote Desktop works perfectly fine in Win 11 Pro 22H2, but when using Kiosk Mode, the Microsoft Store Remote Desktop shows a blue screen saying that the application cannot be started and to get for more information I should search online for error code 0x080004005.

Any idea how to fix this problem?

The error code 0x080004005 when using Microsoft Store Remote Desktop in Kiosk Mode on Windows 11 Pro 22H2 suggests that there may be an issue with the application's compatibility with the operating system or with the Kiosk Mode settings.

Here are a few possible solutions to try:

    • Make sure that you have the latest version of the Microsoft Store Remote Desktop app installed. Sometimes, compatibility issues can be resolved by updating the app.
    • Check if the app is compatible with Windows 11 Pro 22H2. Some apps may not be fully compatible with the latest version of the operating system.
    • Check the settings of Kiosk mode, ensure that it is configured correctly and that the app has the necessary permissions.
    • Try running the app in a different mode, such as in a non-kiosk mode to see if the issue is specific to Kiosk mode.
    • Try resetting the app if it is not working properly, it will repair the app without deleting your personal information.

    Hello there,

Microsoft is investigating user reports of issues with Remote Desktop on Windows 11 systems after installing the Windows 11 2022 Update.

You can collect the Event logs and share them with the Microsoft team to get this sorted or get an appropriate workaround for this.

    -Download the process monitor tool.

    • Get a dump from the crashing process and share it through the feedback hub.

Process Monitor is an advanced monitoring tool for Windows that shows real-time file system, Registry, and process/thread activity. You can get the tool from here https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/downloads/procmon

You can raise feedback to the Microsoft team. The Feedback Hub app lets you tell Microsoft about any problems you run into https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/send-feedback-to-microsoft-with-the-feedback-hub-app-f59187f8-8739-22d6-ba93-f66612949332

Hope this resolves your Query !!
