It is a private, personal pc and I am the only user and have admin rights.

Windows defender shows no issues but i tried with Norton 360 off and it still had same problem.

The thread links to issues relating to messages regarding settings managed by organisation rather than by administrator as is my problem.

Thanks for taking the time to try and help me out, much appreciated.

It is a private, personal laptop and I'm the sole user and have admin rights.

Windows defender all looks correct but I tried turning off Norton 360 but it made no difference.

The threads linked relate to issues with settings managed by organisation where my issue is settings managed by administrator.

Thanks for taking the time to help me out, much appreciated.

This is my personal PC, and I am in the Administrators group. I have no 3rd party antivirus installed as of yet. I am not sure why I am getting this. I wish Microsoft Windows would give more details on why this message is displaying, as it seems to indicate that a 3rd party is managing some settings on my personal PC.

The message "For your security, some settings are managed by your system administrator" typically appears when the settings for BitLocker Drive Encryption have been configured or restricted by a system administrator using Group Policy.

This means that the specific settings you're trying to access are locked and can only be modified by someone with the appropriate permissions, such as a system administrator.

As a workaround, you can try to check the local group policy editor by running the "gpedit.msc" command in the Run dialogue box. Then navigate to Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > BitLocker Drive Encryption. Here you can check the settings that are applied and if there is any restriction on the settings you are trying to access.

    Hello there,

Is this your personal device or work device?

If this is work device then probably you must contact your system admin. If not it could be due to account corruption.

If you have a third-party antivirus, it may be affecting Windows Defender, as the latter’s Real-time Protection feature will be turned off by default. You may need to disable or uninstall the antivirus temporarily to remove the error.

The below thread discusses the same issue and you can try out some troubleshooting steps from this and see if that helps you to sort the Issue. https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/some-settings-managed-by-system-administrator-no/47dbfaac-5ac6-40b4-a934-cb932e0d1986

Hope this resolves your Query !!
