Hi, team.

One user gets an error when he tries to open a directory/rename/delete. Accordingly, it is not synchronized through onedrive.

ShareX_UwokiCxujU

ShareX_KoPtmDudTQ

This error is caused by the operation of the file system. We tried to restore OneDrive directories, perform a full synchronization, but unfortunately this did not work. Even disconnecting from the account and working as normal directories did not allow us to delete/rename the directory.

I have never seen such an error before and I do not understand what caused it. This gives the impression that OneDrive for Business created the problem.

Perhaps someone knows what is the reason?

Have you tried to run Chkdsk Scan?

If not, please unlink OneDrive and quit OneDrive client first.

    • Open command Prompt as an Administrator.
    • Type in chkdsk c: /r /f
    • When command prompt asks to answer Y/N, answer Y and allow disk check. (Note: If your system drive is different, then replace it with your drive letter e.g. put a d: instead of a c:)
    • Restart PC, allow the disk check to run. Log back into your PC and then delete the folder or file.

If the steps above do not work, please try following steps to have a check.

    1. Pause OneDrive sync for 2 hours or longer in the desktop app on the local computer.
    2. Go to OneDrive online and delete the respective file online. (Just in case, before delete files, please back them up.)
    3. Restart PC in Windows Safe Mode and delete the file on the local computer.
    4. Restart PC in normal mode to have a check.

    Same issue here.

Perhaps in my case the problem could be for its very nested name, 20 subfolders.

    I can't chkdsk because I'm not administrator.

Resetting OneDrive didn't solve the issue.

    Any other suggestion?
