Teams user shown as Unknown user after reallocating office licence

Question

I was playing around MS teams and O365 licencing, and after I removed office licence and reallocated the licence, the user is showing as Unknown user; on the chat list, I can the actual users name, when i click on the user and chat it becomes unknown user. Same deal, when i search for the user on teams -> shows the actual username, then, if i click and chat, it becomes, unknown user. I tried it on webbrowser (on private mode) and on teams app

Hi @AR,

To me this may be the expected behavior.

It may take a while for the information to be updated in the backend.

And since chat messages are stored in Exchange mailbox, you would still be able to search the chat history.

Please wait some time and see it would update correctly.
