Hey there,

We're looking at setting up AVD for our organization to use as desktops from home. However, our users use RingCentral, a desktop app for phone calls and such, quite regularly. When talking with a third party (who will be building the AVD environment for us) he mentioned that previous client had RingCentral set up and had some really bad latency issues. Has anyone else had this issue?

Hi Carson Bybee , Thanks for posting your query on Microsoft Q&A.
Apologies for the delay on this.

As per the FAQs here ,
Does Azure Virtual Desktop support third-party collaboration apps?

Azure Virtual Desktop is currently optimized for Teams. Microsoft currently doesn't support third-party collaboration apps like Zoom. Third-party organizations are responsible for giving compatibility guidelines to their customers. Azure Virtual Desktop also doesn't support Skype for Business.

On discussion with the internal team on this, we would recommend you to reach out to the RingCentral support and ask them when their software will be compatible with AVD, i.e. when they will support media optimization.

In the meantime, you could maybe consider Citrix on Azure as it seems Citrix integration with RingCentral is already there: Using Citrix VDI integration in the RingCentral desktop and web | RingCentral app
