Can I Remove "Join on the web" Link in Email Invites?

Is there a way to remove the "Join on the web" link that is included in Teams meeting email invites at all please? Or, at the very least, change the wording of it? It's confusing some of my service users to have that link in addition to the "Click here to join the meeting" link (that I want to keep in the invites).

Huge thanks in advance if you can help with this.

    Hi @seantnash

It is possible to manually delete or modify the text when you are editing the meeting invitation email in Outlook.

However, currently there isn't a global setting in Teams which can control the default format of the invitation email.

There has been an active Teams Uservoice thread for this feature:

I want to change the default settings of Teams meeting invitation emails

    Thanks for your understanding.

If you are using the Microsoft Teams desktop app, you can remove the "Join on the web" link by disabling the "Allow external access to the meeting" setting. This can be done by going to Teams settings -> Meetings -> Meeting policies -> Global (or Custom) -> Edit -> External access -> Turn off "Allow external access to the meeting".

If you're using Office 365, you could do this via PowerShell.

If you are using Teams in the browser, you can remove the "Join on the web" link by disabling the "Allow anonymous join" setting. This can be done by going to Teams settings -> Meetings -> Meeting policies -> Global (or Custom) -> Edit -> Anonymous join -> Turn off "Allow anonymous join".
