Windows 10 1909 RDP connection issue

Hello,

I have a client with multiple Windows 10 1909 machines. Users from there are connecting to Windows 2019 Server using RDP connection.
The problem is they use RDP Addin (static and dynamic virtual channels) which sometimes does not work. RDP connection works but virtual channel could not be opened.

In the client event log i found these:

1) The client has established a multi-transport connection to the server.

2) RDPClient_SSL: An error was encountered when transitioning from TsSslStateDisconnected to TsSslStateDisconnected in response to TsSslEventInvalidState (error code 0x8000FFFF).

3) RDP ClientActiveX has been disconnected (Reason= 2)

What could cause this issue?

    Hi @iz111

Would this be related with network latency or packet loss?

We may use PSPING to check for TCP connectivity on server:

    psping.exe RDSHFQDN:3389
    PsPing v2.1
    https://learn.microsoft.com/zh-cn/sysinternals/downloads/psping

Today I updated from 1903 to 1909. I was on RDP when I started the update. RDP stopped working after the update. Thanks Microsoft...

Anyway, here's what made it work again for me:

    • Settings:

Update & Security -> For Developers -> Scroll to the "Remote Desktop" section

I toggled the "Change settings to allow remote connections to this computer" off and then back on and clicked the "Apply" button at the bottom of the section.

I confirmed that indeed I wanted that to happen.

And it magically started to work again. I have no idea what it did, because I've tried everything else that came to mind. I landed here by luck while searching for "remote desktop" in the task bar.
