Outlook for Windows ignores "img max-height"

Hey all,

we're using monday.com. I receive several notification mails by monday.com per day.

With those emails I always have to scroll down several screen heights. And I found out why: there is a title image that is about 2200px in height. But the email code should shrink it by "max-height: 150px". This works in Outlook for Android, Mac and on the web platform. But Outlook for Windows somehow ignores the code and shows the image in it's full 2200px height.

I turned on "CSS" in the email display settings:

According to your description, i notice that you want to use code to make the css work for setting height and width, right?

If so, based on my research i found a thread mentioned some suggestions, please check if the following thread is helpful: Image style height and width not taken in outlook mails.

I am facing similar issue. My email template can have dynamic images so size is not fix but I want to limit to 150px. If I am setting height and width to 150px then it is changing the aspect ration of the image and if I am taking a small image let say 50X50 px image then it is stretching it to 150px which is again a distorted image. I want if image size is less 150 px then show it small but if its greater than 150px then set it to 150px max. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

I am fixing a similar issue:

The root cause of max-width from your email template is ignored seems to be:

outlook decides to apply a global style to all image tag, like:

.i-am-outlook-mobile img { max-width: 100% !important; }

This style will override your max-width (most likely, unless you have !important too)
