How to stop/start SQL Server Analysis Services using SQL Server Agent job

Mar 20 Reputation points

Hi, I need to restart my SQL Server Analysis Services instance (basically start and stop the instance) before processing the tabular model that is created on that instance. Data processing is managed by the step in the agent job, so the restart should be scheduled as a new step in that agent job. I googled the issue and found that I can actually use a powershell script that I can start from the agent job. The problem is that I'm not familiar with powershell and I'm not sure, if I'm doing the right thing as it doesn't work. Any advice would be appreciated!

Thank you in advance
