Hello all,

I'm going crazy. We work with Office 365 in the company and store almost all files on SharePoint. In principle, it's a great thing when it works ... For a few weeks now, I've been getting the message "An internet connection is required to open this file. Please connect and try again." This is when I want to open a file via a link in an email that is on our SharePoint.

The curious thing is that I have an Internet connection and if I go the roundabout way and call up the SharePoint via a browser and then navigate to the target file, it works. But not when I click directly on the link.

And to make things even crazier, the error does not always occur. Sometimes I can open the file.

It's not just Office files, it's a general problem.

Any ideas?

Thanks, Alex

Try disabling ipv6 Control Panel > Network and Internet > Network Connections > Choose your network adaptor > Properties > Untick Internet Protocol Version 6 > OK.

    Hi,

No, there is no antivirus check that blocks the links. The strange thing is, that sometimes the link works and in the next moment not.

    Hi @Maier Alexander

You could try to copy the link and open it in another browser to see the outcomes, you can also try to use the browser private mode to open the link. Besides, check your network environment, switch to another network if it's available for you, close the proxy or firewall temporarily to open the link again.
