To narrow down your issue, please provide the following information:
1. Whether your college email mailbox is an exchange online mailbox?
2. Are you signed in through an Outlook client or OWA?
3. Are there any error messages?
In addition , as Marshaljs says, the best way to contact your administrator to check if the background information of that mailbox is working properly.
