Microsoft Store offers published app "free to use" but no such offer configured at submission

New to this, unsure if this is the right place to ask... please direct me as appropriate.

I submitted an app for publication in the Store. The app is not free, but contains code per Microsoft's tutorial that checks licensing and supports a limited-time free trial. I submitted earlier versions of this app before without issue, but this is the first version that has license-verification code.

The app passed certification and is now available in the Store, but appears with the option of "free to use or buy to own" just above the banner with the price tag. I signed out of the Store to make sure it's not because it recognizes my account as the creator of the app and gives me a freebie, but same result. Indeed, I can download and install the app for free. It is fully enabled, skipped trial mode.

I went back to review my submission. Now below the "Pricing", "Free Trial" and "Sale Pricing" sections, there is a new section "Free to Use" with "No offers configured". This "Free to Use" section was not visible when I was preparing my submission. But I could not change this option even if I wanted since the submission has been processed. I can prepare a new submission, but again this "Free to Use" section does not appear on the new submission form.

Anybody understands what's up with this?

    Hello,

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A!

When you installed the app from the Store before, the valid license of this app will be stored by the system. Although you've changed your app as a paid app, but the system will still consider that you've already owned the app before. So you will only see the free to use option in the Store.

There is no way to clean the license information of the system. You have to use a new device to test.

    Thank you.
