Unable to delete resource groups

My account was inactive for sometime as I had reached spend cap. Today, it got active again. I am trying to delete resource groups but am getting the following error

My account has another email linked. I am logged in with my usual/primary/correct id. How could I fix the issue?

    seems the issue was that the group I was trying to delete was "managed" as mentioned in the name of the groups! i.e. it was created by some automated process. I had used a template, so it seems that some service in the template created these groups. I instead deleted the top level group which deleted all the managed groups as well.
