We have the following problem:

On a computer were data stored, We have there also a third party software installed, which saves log data. The problem is that so much data was previously stored on the hard disk that the log data regularly filled up the hard disk. It was also the option activated, that WIndows at low memory, again enough space available. The computer then crashed after several weeks and could no longer start. By means of a recovery software we had determined that the MFT was damaged, and the C: drive was in raw format.

How does this happen? We could not find any information or errors in the log files.

    Hello

Thank you for your question and reaching out. I can understand you are having query\issues related to MFT .

There can be many reasons that MFT or File System on this Disk gets corrutped.

One of the main reason is Physical Disk failure or Hardware corruption on the Disk.

Please try to check health of Disk and File system health using chkdsk /f /r command to repair file system.

Hi thanks for your Reply, the Points you described im also known.

im interested in: "How can the MFT getting corrupt, only from writing and deleting at a new PC.(It was turend on Diskspace-Optimizing.

After few Weeks, where the PC have work on that, the Harddisk having enough space to work, the System frozen, and after a Restart the Bluescreen : NTFSFileSystem occures.

    • Hardware error i dont think for a reason, if i want i could reformating the SSD, and still using(SMART: NO ERROR)
    • How it can happen, that from standard operation(at the last limit i Know ^^) , the mft table getting corrupt?
    • Can it be ,that the System had a Blackout, at the time, when the System saved in the MFT? The Harddisk still getting detectedat other Systems, only the C:\Partition is in Raw-Format with partition-software i can restore it.
    • So its listen maybe like that a part from th ;FT is corrupt(speccially the part for NTFS Information, im right, from writes and erase -Operation,which haven collidates?

So physically damage at disk isnt a option (SATA-SSD, SMART havent detected Problems.)

Could it be that cells at the SSD getting marked as broken, where the mft-table. or a part of the MFT was written at?

Would it be happen than that 2-3 Partions wrking fine , and only the Boot(C:) are in Raw Format?

    Thanks lot for your Times

    Sascha

Phyiscally Disk failure or Hardware corruption on the Disk i can say NOPE.

THe SSD are still working fine after i formatting them.

Im interesting in how it can happen that , when WIndows having only 300 mb free, th optimazing starting to delete temp files ,and others, that after few weeks , the System get frozen, and MFT getting corrupt after restart? Could it be when above few Weeks, the System only writing data at the ssd and deleting them, for getting free space, the MFT was written corrupt by Windows?

Or could it be that the System had a blackout at the time , where the System was written at the MFT?

i dont can imagine, that from soo standard operation, a SSD will getting in RAW Format, adn the FIlesystem are damaged!

Thanks for your helps and answer (In future)
