Microsoft Edge failed to start: exited normally. (unknown error: DevToolsActivePort file doesn't exist)

I Want to automate webview application using selenium.

getting following error.

here are my specifications.

Edge Version : 109.0.1518.70

Selenium.WebDriver.MSEdgeDriver Vesion : 109.0.1518.61

Selenium.WebDriver Version : 4.8.2

edgeOptions with webview2 are not working . please provide guidance over this issue

I can't reproduce the issue. I use Selenium 4.8.0, Edge WebDriver 109.0.1518.70 and WebView2 Runtime 109.0.1518.70. It can automate WebView2 application successfully.

Which version of WebView2 Runtime do you use? You need to make the WebView2 version and WebDriver version match.

I have created new project which uses following configuration

Selenium 4.8.0, Edge WebDriver 109.0.1518.70 and WebView2 Runtime 109.0.1518.70

Still facing same error.

Which version of WebView2 SDK do you use in your WebView2 app? What if you download the official WinForms WebView2 sample and use the latest stable WebView2 SDK 1.0.1518.46, can you automate it successfully?

Could you please enable verboseLogging and share the detailed log output in the console window?

var service = EdgeDriverService.CreateDefaultService(); service.EnableVerboseLogging = true;
