Error: Failed to restore backup for a Web App - App Service

When i try and restore a backup of my Web App, Azure throws a generic Internal Server Error .

InternalServerError

Has anyone else experienced this and how do i resolve it?

    This would lead me to question if the backup itself has fallen into a bad state. Have you tried restoring from a different restore point? We have seen that work in instances where the primary backup restore results in an error.
