Experiencing authentication issues in InTune Portal (users & groups)

Hi there,

I've been using InTune on a new Tenant.

When trying to access the users or groups tabs, at first it worked.

Then suddenly (starting on Jan 31st) it stopped working with the following log when accessing the users tab:

The portal is having issues getting an authentication token. The experience rendered may be degraded.

Additional information from the call to get a token:

The tenant administrator created an entirely new account for me, and yet I ended up with the same error exactly. Tested on Firefox and Edge.

When accessing the groups, I get similar but different error, in a call to https://graph.ppe.windows.net/myorganization/isDirectoryFeatureEnabled?api-version=1.6-internal

I receive the following:

{"odata.error":{"code":"Authentication_ExpiredToken","message":{"lang":"en","value":"Your access token has expired. Please renew it before submitting the request."}}}

I tried to access users and groups management through https://portal.azure.com/ and it works fine (I've got access rights to it).

Any help appreciated.

    Are you able to use Users and groups from Azure AD portal? Also, what Azure role do you have assigned?

    Hi,

    Yes I can access and use Users and groups from Azure AD portal. My roles are as follow:

    • Exchange Administrator
    • Global Administrator
    • Global Reader
    • Helpdesk Administrator
    • Service Support Administrator
    • SharePoint Administrator
    • Teams Administrator
    • User Administrator

    Interestingly, the global admin who created my account does not seem to have the same issues.

    @AlexisB Thanks for posting in our Q&A.

    This is an occasional problem. It is suggested to try to use the Edge browser's inprivate windows or clean your browser's cache. Then sign in intune portal again to check if you can access Users and groups.

    I had already tried clearing all my cookies and using the private browser. I even created a new Edge profile. And my administrator even created an entirely new account for me to try.

    My PC has been restarted as well.

    Still I have the exact same issue.
