within a business a mobile is not always a viable solution is there a desk top version of the authenticator app or is there any plans to have one?

No Desktop app is the only reason I have yet to migrate fully from 1Password

I don't have plans for a desktop authenticator app. While mobile isn't always viable for business, I'll keep watch for updates. Will notify if anything changes.
