speech to speech translation latency influencing factors?

hi, we are integrating the azure congestive speech to speech service in our meeting room, as the time difference between the input and output is a little long, some seconds, so we want to know which factor may influence the latency. We are using the S1 plan.

Chen Miracle Have you added the following property to the config as mentioned in the quickstart?

config.SetProperty(PropertyId.SpeechServiceConnection_ContinuousLanguageIdPriority, "Latency");

Since you are already on the standard plan it shouldn't be an issue with the limits.

Are you are using a multi service cognitive service resource with a global region, or a dedicated speech resource associated with a particular region? It is better to use a dedicated speech resource in your region or nearest to your region and try, if you are currently using global region for your resource.

Hi, what do you mean by multi service cognitive service? since I'm in China, we chose the "eastasia" region.

Besides, does the SpeechTranslationConfig.FromSubscription FromEndpoint(Uri endpoint, string subscriptionKey) or FromSubscription(string subscriptionKey, string region) have an effect? We're using the latter one.

For the first comment, A multi service cognitive resource is a resource that can be created from azure portal which can work as a combination of other services from vision & language offerings of cognitive services. These types of resources are still available for creation where some customer choose to use a single endpoint for different cognitive services.

For the second comment, using FromSubscription() is recommended unless you want to force it to a endpoint with some set parameters in the endpoint.
