Multiple domains with single user

Hi, I have two domains for 2 separate companies (domain1.com and domain2.com) and want to be able to receive and send emails from both domains.

Domain1.com was already set up and I have just pointed the name servers etc. for domain2.com which worked fine and I can receive emails from both. However I don't seem to have the option to send as domain2.com unless I manually type it in and select send from: "user@domain1.com"

Is there a way to send from domain2.com as a standard option (e.g. when replying to emails that were sent there it automatically chooses that domain2.com to send from)?

To be more specific about your needs, please describe your current setup:

1.     Are you currently an on-premises Exchange mailbox or an Exchange online mailbox?

2.     Does the current user have two mailboxes? Or does a mailbox have two SMTP addresses?

3.     If the latter, does domain2.com setting as a proxy address?

If I misunderstand something, please correct me and provide us with details about the issue so that we can better understand it to help you further.
