I created 2 SharePoint sites the same way but one works in edge and the other doesn't.

It seems that of my two communications sites one allows for authentication via insertion of username and password in Microsoft edge however the other simply asks me to select from an authentication drop down containing "windows authentication". Sites work just fine in Firefox and internet explorer.
