I know I can toggle column's visibility based on another item. That means the other item would have a plus sign for a user to click on. What I want is to use the same toggle mechanism to collapse a column but without user interaction. Another words, to have columns collapsed automatically. Is it possible to base toggle on an expression?

No, it won't work for me. I need to use a toggle machanism because I want to export a report into Excel and have some columns hidden automatically. The only way I have found is that I if toggle column's visibility then it is exported as a hidden column. But if I hide a column in the report it's not getting exported.

Yes, it will not export hidden columns. Can you tell me your purpose? Why would you want to hide this column and then save it when exporting to Excel?

The users want to have a few columns to sort data by but in Excel only. Ideally, these columns should be hidden in Excel so they dont take extra space. Excel still can sort by these columns even if they are hidden.
