How to set up 2-factor authentication if you don’t have a code or QR Code? And how to get it restored if it won’t restore?

Hey, for anyone who knows what to do here, I really need help. Since I had gotten a new phone 2 days ago, and everything, such as my apps, as well as my Microsoft Authenticator app, and when I tried signing in to my Work or School account, it kept bringing me to the “Approve the new sign in request” area, and I didn’t get any notification from my Authenticator app. I tried adding my work or school account again, but still it kept saying the same thing. I even tried backing it up, but that didn’t work. In addition to that, I tried setting up 2-Factor Authentication, but it keeps telling me to scan a QR Code or enter the code manually and I don’t have any of these. If anyone has any answers to this, please let me know immediately. Thank you.

    Hi,

In this case you will have to request for a reset of MFA from your Azure Tenant Admin or M365 portal - https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/active-directory/authentication/howto-mfa-userdevicesettings#manage-user-authentication-options

    Hope this helps.

@Ailis Abba Just wanted to check if the above information has helped to answer your query, you can also refer to this article https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/account-billing/set-up-temporary-verification-codes-in-the-microsoft-authenticator-app-55a60b6e-804c-436e-8884-644fcd94bbc2 which refers to different scenarios related to Authenticator app setup/restore.

If the steps doesnt help let me know we can connect offline and discuss further on this.
