Hello,

I want to evaluate Azure Synapse Link to see whether it is the right tool for our task. But I can't find any good explanations about the pricing model. I see a table of costs of Synapse Commit Units, but there are no explanations about what that is.

What kind of operation on what amount of data is called Synapse Commit Unit?

Please advice.

    Hi Anton Chernetskiy ,

Welcome to Microsoft Q&A platform and thanks for posting your question here.

As per my understanding , you want to get details regarding the pricing model of Azure Synapse link. Please let me know if that is not the ask.

    • Azure Synapse Link allows you to replicate data from SQL Server or Azure SQL Database, Azure Cosmos DB, or Dataverse into Azure Synapse Analytics. The pricing model for Azure Synapse Link is based on the number of Synapse Commit Units (SCUs) used.
    • An SCU is a unit of measure for the amount of data that is replicated from the source database to Azure Synapse Analytics. The number of SCUs used is based on the amount of data that is replicated and the frequency of replication. In general, the more data you ingest and store, the more SCUs you will need, and the higher the cost of using Azure Synapse Analytics will be.

For example, if you have a database with 1 TB of data and you want to replicate it to Azure Synapse Analytics every hour, you would need a certain number of SCUs. If you increase the frequency of replication to every 15 minutes, you would need more SCUs.

The pricing for Azure Synapse Link is based on the number of SCUs used per month. You can find more information about the pricing for Azure Synapse Link on the Azure synapse pricing website.
