MS Word: Repeated Table Header and Text Wrapping Explanation

Hi,

when generating a large table in an Word Document, I came across a (rather known) issue regarding the repeating of aHeader Row.

If the Text Wrapping of the table is set to "Around", the Header Row is NOT repeated, even if the corresponding flag is set.
This feature only works if the Text Wrapping is set to "None".
The issue occurs no matter if the settings are done via the UI or in VBA.

My question is, if there is someone who can explain to me why this issue is happening, or point me to documentation, a bug report or a forum entry with an official statement, where there is Information about this issue.

Help would be highly appreciated, as "features" like this in the Office framework really make it hard to properly write VBA code that is not randomly breaking.

no real updates, as the workaround to change the Text Wrapping is more or less provided in the question.
But I did not find a way to accomplish Header Row Repetition with Text Wrapping set to "Around".

Some sidenote I want to add to this matter:
I format the Table in a VBA with the following steps:

I set the Text Wrapping:
myTable.Rows.WrapAroundText = False

I set the HeaderRow
myTable.Rows(1).HeadingFormat = True

I try to set the position of the Table
myTable.Rows.RelativeHorizontalPosition = wdRelativeHorizontalPositionPage
myTable.Rows.HorizontalPosition = 40

Now: The positioning I do at 3. should not be working at all, because WrapAroundText is set to False.

states that " This property doesn't have any effect if the WrapAroundText property is False.".
BUT, the positioning does happen, while the Text Wrapping is set to "Around" leading to the Header Issue.

So there are actually 2 issues: The Header/TextWrapping bug and the HorizontalPosition which behaves not like it is stated in the documentation.

Here, when I run your code, Word does wrap the table, but it also sets Text Wrapping back to "Around" and the repeated headers do not work. So it is back to square one.

I suspect that floating tables were not intended to span multiple pages.

Of course, it would be helpful if the Table Properties dialog box indicated this, for example by greying out the "Repeat as header row at the top of each page" option for wrapped tables.
