Microsoft 365 APNS registration Bug: Reset All Settings in iOS disables push notifications in Microsoft 365 app for iOS, which get enabled only after reinstalling that app.

After Reset of settings in iOS by clicking Settings > General > Transfer or Reset Phone > Reset, the push notifications get disabled for Microsoft 365 for iOS, which does not get re-enabled with launch of the app.

Subsequently notifications dont not get reactivated even after opening the Microsoft 365, which does not show prompt for allowing push notifications as it did upon first install of the app. This shows Microsoft 365 app for iOS is not registering with APNS subsequent to Reset All Settings. The status shown in Microsoft 365 app for iOS > Settings > Push Notifications > “Off”. There is no option to change it from “Off” to “On”.

It is a failure of Microsoft 365 app for iOS to register properly to APNS after a reset of iOS settings, and failing to register at a later stage if initially I don’t setup the notifications at the first run of the App, without deleting and re-installing the app.

It is resolved if Microsoft 365 app for iOS is subsequently uninstalled and re-installed. These apps register correctly with APNS when the app is installed afresh.

Hence it is a bug in Microsoft 365, which is to be resolved by Microsoft.

The Microsoft 365 app too doesn’t show up at all in app list in iOS settings > Notifications, till the app is uninstalled and reinstalled. The Microsoft 365 app for iOS should initiate the prompt asking enabling of push notifications, which it does not after reset of iOS Settings.

The problem occurs primarily with Microsoft 365 app for iOS. Other apps like Microsoft OneDrive for iOS, YouTube and Facebook on iOS don’t face this problem. They are able to register with APNS whenever they are launched subsequent to reset of iOS Settings.

So my request is to resolve the bug in Microsoft 365 app for iOS which ensures that it registers with APNS when they are launched even after iOS settings are reset.
