OneDrive 0x8004de40 azure ad intermittent Windows 10
I'm in the process of configuring 50 laptops for a customer using Azure AD connected accounts and I'm experiencing issues with the vast majority of them where signing into OneDrive times out and produces the error "0x8004de40" or "We can't add your folder right now".
I've followed through all of the steps listed on https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sharepoint/troubleshoot/sync/error-0x8004de40-in-onedrive
and
As well as manually setting the tenant GUID on the local devices by registry though there's currently no restrictions in place on the tenant to restrict it to a tenancy GUID.
I've checked the affected users OneDrive folders for known issues (Required fields, draft settings, etc) and this all matches documentation stating that it should be working.
Tested with local admin rights granted to the users as well as this produces the same issues.
I've confirmed with the main site as they're migrating existing devices over to AzureAD and they've not had the same issues and I've tested with hotspotting to a mobile device in order to test a different internet connection and this appears to produce the same issues.
There's no conditional access policies in place that would be blocking the connections and on 20 previous devices this would eventually go through after about 40 minutes of constantly retrying the sign-in however this has now seemingly stopped entirely.
Is there any additional steps that could be attempted in order to try and get the accounts to sign in?
(OneDrive Windows Store app signs in without any issues and the same with the remainder of the office applications, this is solely limited to the OneDrive for Business client used for syncing and known folder backup).
