Edge doesn't offer profile switching to work account anymore

I'm using my company laptop where I have 2 profiles logged in on Edge, my work account (AD account) and my personal Microsoft account. I also login to my personal account on my gaming PC at home as well. I usually have both profiles opened while I work.

Up until recently, in my personal profile, Edge would ask if I wanted to open the link with my work profile whenever I click on a SharePoint link or whatever site that requires authentication with my AD account.

For the past week or two, this functionality stopped working. When I open my company's SharePoint link on my personal profile, it will direct me to login page where it should ask if I want to use work profile instead.

The "Automatic profile switching" feature is turned on in both profiles. I'm using Edge version 109.0.1518.78 on Windows 11.

Please let me know if more information is needed.

Thanks.

    Hi @Pitawat ,

On Edge Stable, the "Switch profile" prompt seems to have been postponed until you enter your password when authenticating yourself in your personal profile. However, it also means you will have SharePoint logged in in both profiles.

The good news is that you can enjoy the "automatic profile switching" feature as usual on Edge Canary 112.0.1673.0. It may indicate that the Dev Team has recognized this issue and fixed it on Canary. But the fix on Stable has yet to come. You can send feedback by pressing Alt+Shift+I to report this issue.

    As workarounds, you can:

    1. use Edge Canary
    2. add the SharePoint site in Profile preferences for sites in Edge settings to make it open with your work profile. This setting will not prompt you to switch profile but give you a direct profile switching.

Hi. You can just click +Add profile, then in that (new) browser, type in portal.office.com and login that account you wish to be added.
