Hi,

I have a PowerShell script that does some stuff on devices. I am returning custom exit codes (including 0 for success) depending on what happens in the script. Is is possible to have Config Manager understand these custom exit codes for the 'Description'.

E.g.:

User's image

10034 is one of my exit codes for "fail" result. I'd like this to understand what 10034 means.

You are the admin of SCCM and deployed the script, so you may know what does 10034 means.

Do you want a detailed explanation of the exit code in column "Description"?

Yes, that is what I was looking for. At the moment the Message ID is 10006 and the description is 10034. I want the Message ID to be my actual exit code, and then add to SCCM "database" that looks up the Message ID and matches on the description to put the real description in the Description field.

Is that possible? Surely SCCM has a list of the standard Message IDs to look up the description.

I am not the only admin of SCCM and keeping everyone updated with new codes as the script develops would be tricky.

Hi, @Lanky Doodle

The message ID 10006 is a specific code for SCCM and it means the deployment status is "Error", I'm afraid we cannot modify it.

The return code 10034 in your powershell script is independent from SCCM, you may consider editing your powershell script to make it return more details instead of just returning a single code.
