SharePoint 2013 Page Content Got Deleted When "Stop Editing" was Hit

My colleague (with Edit privileges) tried to save the updated page in SharePoint 2013 site as she's done many times before. When she hit "Stop Editing" button this time the all content on the page disappeared (there was a witness who confirmed what happened). I have site admin privileges and tried to restore the previous published version, however, I've got the following message:

"Sorry, something went wrong Save Conflict Your changes conflict with those made concurrently by another user. If you want your changes to be applied, click Back in your Web browser, refresh the page, and resubmit your changes. TECHNICAL DETAILS Troubleshoot issues with Microsoft SharePoint Foundation. Correlation ID: 3d4c94a0-9b7d-f0df-600e-e91ebf18f07b Date and Time: 2/8/2023 2:53:22 PM".

My colleague closed her browser, but it was still impossible to get the previous page version restored.

Then I created a copy of the page in SharePoint Designer, but the newly created page is actually the last draft version of the page that is empty.

Could someone help me troubleshoot this. It has never happened to us before and we have hundreds of pages in our site. I am concerned that this could happen in future and I do not have a way to get the content back to where it belongs, other than a painful reconstruction.

    Hi @Lucia-S

You will always get the error as this is the expected behavior of SharePoint that if you are updating some content and at the mean time it has been updated by some other user before you do the update. What's more, the newly created page is actually the last draft version of the page that is empty when it is copied to SharePoint Designer 2013. So, there may be some error when your colleague saved the page. Actually, she has failed to save it and the page is still in an edit mode now.

You could tell her to save the draft again and open the version history of this page, then restore the old version through the versions.
