SharePoint Online Document Sets - unable to change the content type of a document

When we upload a document to a Doc Set, we can n longer apply the correct Content type. When viewing the Document Info, we can see the Document Set info.

This has only started last month.

DS_CT_Error

The Only fix we've found is to change the Document Set content type from report to Folder.

DS_CT_Error2

After this we can edit the Documents info and assign the correct content type

DS_CT_Error3

We are at a loss as the why this is happening. We have two other Doc set add to this folder, and Only one is working as expected.

Is there a way to reset/rebuild the document Sets without losing and Data? We cant remove any content type as there is over 5000 doc in the folder so removing the CT form all these would be too time consuming (we have to indexes setup).

Thanks

    Hi @David Sherdley

I tested it in my environment and it works fine without reproducing your issue.

According to your description, you said that only one of the three document sets in this Folder can work well.

It is suggested that you re-create a library, and then use add the 3 document sets to the library to see if it can work well.

Switch accounts to see if anyone else has the same problem.

Or rebuild a site to test to see if the problem still exists.
