Accessing remote Raspberry Pi computers with Remote Desktop for Android

I have two Raspberry Pi based systems that monitor the operations of water treatment systems. With version 8.1.82.445 of the Remote Desktop application, I am able to access each of the RPi systems. I recently had to purchase a new Android phone and I installed version 10.0.15.1208 of the Remote Desktop app on the new phone, I set up the TCP/IP addresses for the remote system and tries to log into each. I can't reach either system. The app shows "Connecting to XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX and i have the spinning circle of death and "connecting to remote PC...". My old phone still connects to my home Wi-Fi and can access either system. I can also easily access either RPi system from my home computer, so I know the problem is not with the RPi systems. I have tried reinstalling the links to the remote PCs and uninstalled and reinstalled the Remote Desktop app with no success.

Any thoughts?

Hi. Thank you for your question and reaching out. I’d be more than happy to help you with your query

It's possible that the issue may be with the Remote Desktop app on your new Android phone. Here are a few things you can try to troubleshoot the issue:

Check your network settings: Ensure that your new Android phone is connected to the same network as your Raspberry Pi systems. You can also try resetting your Wi-Fi connection on the phone.

Check the firewall settings on the Raspberry Pi systems: Make sure that the firewall on each of the Raspberry Pi systems isn't blocking incoming connections from the IP address of your new phone. You may need to adjust the firewall settings to allow Remote Desktop connections.

Update the Remote Desktop app: Make sure that you have the latest version of the Remote Desktop app installed on your new Android phone. If you're using an older version, it's possible that it's not compatible with your new phone.

Check for compatibility issues: Check to see if there are any known compatibility issues between the version of the Remote Desktop app you're using and your new phone's operating system. You may need to contact the app developer or your phone manufacturer for more information.

Try a different remote desktop app: If none of the above steps work, you can try using a different remote desktop app on your new Android phone to see if you're able to connect to the Raspberry Pi systems. There are several remote desktop apps available on the Google Play Store that you can try.
