Windows 11 ARM and Dragon

I have been running the various versions of Dragon Dictation Software for Windows virtually on a Mac since 2008 without any significant problems. The latest combination has been:

MacBook Pro 16" with M1 Chip, Ventura OS 13.1

Parallels Desktop 18.2.0

Windows 11 ARM [most recent update: Windows 11 Insider Preview 25295.1000 (rs_prerelease) installed 10 February 2023]

Dragon Professional Individual 15.61 200 010

All versions of the above software and OS are up to date.

It all worked perfectly until I installed the OS update Windows 11 Insider Preview 25281.1000 (rs_prerelease) on 24 January 2023. From that time, Dragon opens but I get a box saying that it is unstable and needs to be closed and restarted. But it's impossible to close it because when I try I get another box saying "the user 'nospeaker' is not found'. I have to shut down windows and restart to quit Dragon.

If I try to open a Dragon user, I get a further box saying that Dragon cannot access the profile because it is locked "by another windows login session", but there's only one Windows login session.

I didn't set a restore point for Windows and I have no idea if it's possible to go back to the way Windows was before 24 January.

If anyone has any ideas, they would be gratefully received!

Screenshots of the 3 dialog boxes are below:

Hi. Thank you for your question and reaching out. I’d be more than happy to help you with your query

It sounds like the update to Windows 11 Insider Preview 25281.1000 (rs_prerelease) may have caused compatibility issues with Dragon Professional Individual 15.61, resulting in the error messages and unstable behavior you are experiencing.

One thing you can try is to uninstall and reinstall Dragon Professional Individual to see if that resolves the issue. To do this, you can go to the Control Panel in Windows and select "Programs and Features," then find Dragon Professional Individual in the list of installed programs and select "Uninstall." After the software is uninstalled, you can then reinstall it from the original installation file or download a new copy from the Nuance website.

If reinstalling Dragon Professional Individual does not resolve the issue, you may need to roll back the Windows update to a previous version. Unfortunately, since you did not set a restore point before the update, it may not be possible to return to the previous version of Windows. However, you could try running a system file checker (SFC) scan in Windows to check for and repair any corrupted system files that may be causing the issue. To run an SFC scan, open the Command Prompt in Windows and type "sfc /scannow" (without the quotes) and press Enter. The scan may take some time to complete, but it could potentially fix the issue.

If neither of these solutions work, you may need to contact the support team for Dragon Professional Individual to see if they have any additional suggestions for resolving the compatibility issue with the latest version of Windows 11.
