No option to select Concierge subscription or Learn resource group when trying to create a virtual machine as part of AZ-900 learning path

  • Both Learn MS and Azure Portal are signed into same account
  • Have activated a FREE Azure subscription

    Hi,

    Are you able to switch to the Microsoft Learn Sandbox tenant via the Directories + subscriptions screen:

    https://portal.azure.com/#settings/directory

    If the sandbox has expired you would need to activate a new one.

    If the above was helpful please click Accept Answer.

    Thanks.

    @Chloe Fathers, Vodafone ,

    As TP mentioned, kindly switch the directory on Azure Portal. It should say Microsoft Learn Sandbox.

    You can tell whether you're in the sandbox by looking at the directory listed under your name in the upper-right corner. It should say Microsoft Learn Sandbox.

    If you sign into the Azure portal and are in your own subscription (or you sign in to your subscription and end up in the sandbox), one of two things might be wrong. Either you haven't activated the sandbox (I see from the screenshot, Sandbox is activated) or your Azure settings put you in a default directory (the issue is mostly, due to directory). You can change the directory by selecting the Directory and Subscription filter button on the toolbar along the top.

    Just adding more insights on this:

    • The sandbox works independently from your regular subscriptions. In this case, you don’t have to leverage your free subscription.
    • Any unit that uses the Azure portal will always have a link in the instructions to make sure you're in the sandbox. You should always use this link to open the portal, because it will put you in the right directory and subscription. When you're prompted for a username and password, be sure to use the same account that you used to activate the sandbox.

    Another trick to try

    I was already in Azure learn directory but still want not able to see resource group learn under conceirge subscriprion.I went to directory section again and the toggled between the 2 directories.Basically switch on and off and then I could see the "Learn" group.
