Errors during sysprep of Windows 11

setupact.log

deployment summary

I am following a guide on youtube on how to set up MDT to sysprep and capture a Windows 11 image. I am at the point where the image is ready and I am running the Litetouch.vbs script in my deployment share to start the capture process.

sysprep is returning a ton of errors. I find this unusual because I made sure to install all my programs as an administrator and install them for all users.

I ran the powershell command to disable bitlocker and fully decrypt the drive.

I did have to briefly join to my domain to install office 2019 and some other programs which have installers on one of our file servers. However I removed it from the domain before sysprep and the domain user account is gone. No longer on the machine.

I have attached the sysprep log and a screenshot of the MDT deployment summary. Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi @Joshua Bauer

    1, To narrow down the problem, please try to capture a fresh workgroup computer and without any application installed to see if it is successfully?

    2, For error “Expected image state is IMAGE_STATE_GENERALIZE_RESEAL_TO_OOBE, actual image state is IMAGE_STATE_COMPLETE, sysprep did not succeed.”, please try to modify this registry key as following:

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Setup\State]
    "ImageState"="IMAGE_STATE_GENERALIZE_RESEAL_TO_OOBE"

    3, Besides, for error “Sysprep_Clean_Validate_Opk' from C:\Windows\System32\spopk.dll”, this is a similar threader for your reference:

    Sysprep Problem (Audit mode can't be turned on if there is an active scenario.) (microsoft.com)

    Looking forward to your feedback.

    Best regards

    Cherry

    That worked. I was able to successfully sysprep the machine by making that registry edit and replacing the Windows 11 spopk.dll with a different one from a Windows 10 machine.

    Thank you!
