MS Teams app issue - Mobile app not updating messages

I have an issue where some of my users are unable to receive messages on their Teams mobile app on iPhone. When opening the app, they get a message stating "We're having trouble updating your messages". They can get messages on their desktop app and web version just fine, however.

Here's what I've tried so far with no luck:

  • Uninstalled/reinstalled MS Teams app
  • Uninstalled /reinstalled MDM profile on iPhone
  • Rebooted device
  • Updated iPhone OS to latest version
  • Went to Settings > Data & Storage > Cleared both downloaded files and app data

Any ideas?
