Authenticator login loop

I am the sole administrator for an Azure account. When i opened my Msft Authenticator app today, I saw a message "Action Required". It expects a new QR code. When I tried to login, the 2 factor authentication does not work as it expects a reply from the authenticator. If I select "I can't use my Microsoft Authenticator app right now" then I get only 2 options "Approve a request on my Microsoft Authenticator app" And "Use a Verification Code". Both the options require the authenticator to confirm. Is there a way to get out of this loop.
