BS CAPSTONE PROJECT - Need OS or VM snapshot with multiple (preferably inactive) accounts

Hello!

I am working on my capstone project for my bachelor's. Part of our project is to write a script that can pull down user account and profile data like last login date. We are doing okay on the script but need a way to test it. From what I can tell, we can't just create a bunch of accounts and then test if the script flags the correct ones because we are not able to manually set the last login date. Is there a way we could accomplish this? Is there somewhere that offers training ISOs that we could get a copy of specifically to test this? They would need to have accounts ranging from a few days old to over 90 days of inactivity if possible.

If anybody can point me in the right direction, it would be greatly appreciated.

Respectfully,

Jonathan

Hi. Thank you for your question and reaching out. I’d be more than happy to help you with your query

If you are looking to create a BS Capstone Project that requires an OS or VM snapshot with multiple (preferably inactive) accounts, you may want to consider setting up a virtual machine with multiple user accounts. This can be done with a variety of virtualization software, such as VMware Workstation, VirtualBox, and Hyper-V. Once you have set up the virtual machine, you can take a snapshot of the OS or VM. This will allow you to capture the current state of the machine, including the multiple user accounts, and can then be used for your project.
