Sharepoint - Mirror external folder.

I have a team sharepoint site and a separate server which hosts lot of documents in folders.

I'd like the team to be able to access the server folders and docs from inside Sharepoint... So they can get there either from going directly to the mapped drive in file explorer or via the sharepoint.

If they add, remove or make any changes to a file from either location, they should be mirrored in both locations.

The folder is not a One Drive as its a system account, so i can't link it that way.

I do not want to set up a copy routine either.

Any tips or tricks please :)

    Hi @Lee Sawyer ,

Are you using SharePoint Online or SharePoint Server?

To access files on a file server from a SharePoint site, you would go to Site Actions>Edit Page>Click "Add a WebPart">Scroll through the listing of web parts and in the "Media and Content" section select "Page Viewer" web part and click Add. (For SharePoint Online, create a Web Part Page, click "Add a WebPart">Scroll through the listing of web parts and in the "Media and Content" section select "Page Viewer" web part and click Add.)

    02203

While still in edit mode click on the "open the tool pane" link within the page viewer web part.  In the tool pane fill in the radio button for "file"  and in the link window put in the path to the file share.  file://servername/sharename or file://servername/sharename/folder

If you want to change the title of web part from "Page Viewer Web Part" expand the appearance and give it the title that you want it to have.  Then click the OK button and exit edit mode.

Your folders from the file share should now be appearing on your SharePoint page.  The files still are on the file share, but you can access them from your SharePoint site.
