Hello everyone,
I am currently testing out MDT for image deployments.
Do I need to buy any additional ISOs for this to work?
Here is what I am currently doing. It is still in the early stages, so some details are omitted.
- Download Windows 10 Evaluation ISO
- Load the evaluation ISO into a task sequence
- ...
- Deploy the OS to a computer that already has a licensed version of Windows
My question is. Will this setup give me any issues? I was hoping there would be some way to verify that the computer I am deploying to already has a licensed version of Windows, so the Evaluation will automatically upgrade using the licensing keys embedded in the BIOS.
My goal is to deploy a copy of Windows to each computer using a "de-bloated" version with additional applications included (either through a standard task sequence, or through a golden image).
Does that make sense? I am having a hard time understanding how to get this to work the right way. I've seen people mention that we need to buy a volume license of Windows 10. The computers I am deploying to already have Windows 10, so I would like to avoid any more costs. Since I am still doing testing, I only have a Windows Evaluation ISO file too, so that makes things more difficult for me to understand.
Thanks in advance!
