    Hi @w raspe

For SCCM, the error 80004005 is an unspecified error. To narrow down the problem, please help upload the full smsts.log and task sequence screenshot for our reference.

    Looking forward to your reply!

    Best regards

    Hello,

I would start with the next:

    1. Check your Distribution Point self-signed certificate hasn't expired:

Administration > Distribution Points > Properties of DP

Check the expiration date. If it's expired, simply create a new certificate and update all of your boot images to the DP.

    1. BIOS date/time on the client. Ensure it's correct.

You can also use CMTrace (located in "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Configuration Manager\tools") to open SMSTS.LOG and review errors and warnings with color codes.

Additionally, I would recommend checking the partition type on the VM and that matches the deployment. I have seen this issue many times with VMs as the image was captured on a Legacy type instead of a EFI partition. Usually after rebuilding the image on a EFI VM the issue has been resolved.
