List view thresshold recommendations on SharePoint

Question

We are receiving frequently list view threshold issues, Please clarify which is best way among all to recommend to customer:

1. Unlocking the list view threshold using powershell script? and revert to previous state
2. Creating the list views and filter the view with to make less than 5000
3. Increasing the list view threshold from 8000 to 15000? does it effect on performance?
4. Use the change window time option from resource throttling option in web application list? which one is recommended and why. Please let me know if we miss anything

Hi @sns ,

I suggest that you do not exceed the threshold of 5000 in each list view. Please refer to Manage large lists and libraries.

The figure below explains how the threshold number in a view is calculated.

]()Even though there is a 5000 threshold limit in the sharepoint view, but you can store more than 5000 items or files. The problem is that when you store more than 5000, your computer response speed will slow down, and you may also have some problems when adding indexes. This is something we cannot predict and solve.
