How to active window server 2022 license on VMware Vsphere 8

Hi Everyone,

I have a project to build an ESXI 8,

on Server 2 CPUs, 16 cores each,

After the installation is complete, I want to create 4 VMs running windows server 2022 standard,

Please let me know if I want to activate the license for window server 2022, how do I buy a license, can anyone who has experience in implementation give me a reference.

Some general info

• Each host needs to be licensed. (licensing is the same regardless of the host hypervisor being used)
• A minimum of 8 core licenses is required for each physical processor and a minimum of 16 core licenses is required for each server.
• Core licenses are sold in packs of two.
• Standard Edition provides rights for up to 2 Operating System Environments or Windows Servers containers with Hyper-V isolation when all physical cores in the server are licensed. For each additional 1 or 2 VMs, all the physical cores in the server must be licensed again.
• DataCenter Edition provides rights for unlimited Operating System Environments or Windows Servers containers with Hyper-V isolation when all physical cores in the server are licensed.

From what you posted you'll need a 64 core Server 2022 Standard license. You just activate the four guests with the same host product key.

each virtual server running different OS will be like? You'll need to license the host again for each operating system used, unless you installed a DataCenter host, then AVMA product keys ranging from 2012 R2 to 2022 could be used.

AVMA cannot be used with ESXI or any other hypervisors.

2 VMs run OS window server 2022 standard , 1 VM run OS window server 2012 , 1VM run OS window server 2016

You'll need a 32 core for Server 2022 Standard, a 32 core for Server 2012 Standard, and a 32 core for Server 2016 Standard which would allow for running up to two of each on your new host.

You will need just 2x 16core license, each license have to cover license for 2VMs, and that is total of 4 VMs. You are good with two 16core license.
