How to enable popup in ms-teams app

Hello,
I have a nextJs project being used in a ms-teams app,where we are using an iframe for opening a specific url in popup.
The iframe works fine when used in the ms-teams web-app and opens within a popup, but when used within ms-teams windows application, it opens the popup in a new tab on browser instead of the popup.
Any idea, as to how I can fix this?
