Windows server 2019 failover cluster no disks

So i have a proliant server with 3 hard drives. One for the actual system / booting and the other 2 are freshly formatted. I have another server with 1 500gb hard drive. Both are running windows server 2019 w/ latest updates.

Im trying to make file server failover cluster. I have made a cluster via the proliant server with all the local drives. But why does it say there are no suitable disks? Why are they not suitable. I have ran all tests and no issues. It does kind of say what the issue with the disks are but not sure how to fix. Im very new to windows server.

    Well, you have the explanation in the image Proliant-Server.Georgels.Network.local in the column Disk Characteristics

    Disk 0: Disk bus type does not support clustering --> Bus type: SATA

    Disk 1: Disk bus type does not support clustering --> Bus type: SATA

    Disk 2: Disk bus type does not support clustering --> Bus type: SATA

    Disk 3: Disk bus type does not support clustering... well it's a removable storage...

    Normally, a disk you want to use in a cluster has to be visible to all cluster nodes (servers) within the cluster. SATA bus type is a local... so cannot be shared.

    You will need to use either a shared storage, iSCSI, SAN...

    Hey,

    Failover Cluster needs shared storage. There are multiple option, which can be used. External SAN or Software-Defined Storage are the most popular options. S2D can be used as an option (SDS). It can be used on top of SATA drives to create shared storage for Failover Cluster. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-server/storage/storage-spaces/storage-spaces-direct-hardware-requirements

    As another option, you can use StarWind VSAN (also SDS), which can create replicated storage for the cluster on top of local SATA drives.
