Office 2013 to 2021 overwrite. OST cannot be accessed. Is configured for different mailbox

Installed Office 2021 Pro+ over Office 2013 Pro+ not worrying about eMail folders because using IMAP. Figured IMAP would simply re-synch and all would be well w/2021. Not so. Receiving "The set of folders cannot be opened. [FIlename - Default.ost] cannot be accessed because it has been configured for use with a different mailbox." A .pst and .ost file dated today exist in the Outlook folder. Moving these both elsewhere, to hide them, so I might redefine my eMail presence for IMAP to do its things doesn't work.

Outlook doesn't want to start unless it can find and open the file it cannot access.

Huh???

BTW - we're using Outlook to access a gMail account,. The Google 2FA and security stuff has been, and should still be in place for the desired IMAP re-synch.

Any and all guidance would be appreciated.

    Hi @Jeff Tisza ,

Do you configure your Gmail account and other accounts into one profile? To rule out other factors,, it is recommended that you create a new profile to connect to your Gmail account.

To create a new profile: Go to Control Panel > Mail > Show Profiles > Add.
