How can I enable auto updates on VMs created from custom images
When ever I try to enable automatic updates from Azure Update Management Center I keep getting this error:
I've been trying to find a way to enable automatic updates and patching in Azure for all the Vm's that I currently have, but I always end up with an error saying something about custom OS images not being supported
Is there not really a way to enable this ?

Unfortunately custom images are not currently supported. Please refer to article below for list of supported images:

Is support for custom images on the roadmap? We have a number of VMs migrated with Azure Migrate that are "custom images." With Azure Automation Update Management being effectively EOL in 8/2024 we are trying to plan a replacement.
