I am having a strange issue with a few servers at my company. When I try to browse to https://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/ I get the below error. I have internet connection as you can see by the 2nd screen shot of the secure website of Chase works fine.
The servers that wont connect to the catalog will not get updates because of this. It is not firewall or antivirus, the majority of servers that work fine have the same settings for both and are even on the same vlan. I have tested with no firewall and no AV to be safe and got the same results. I have also tried several different browsers and got the same error.
I do not think this is a browser issue because the server it self can not even reach out to the update service as pictured below. But because of this error a manual or an automatic update via Azure Update Management will not work.
Does anyone have suggestions as to what this might be?
Wanted to add this as well. When I do try to do the manual update in update settings, I get this error but as you can see I have ESPN website open and working just fine. So its not internet connectivity.

Unfortunately this does not work to load the website. Also, it would not create a work around for my issues of checking for updates. If I knew what updates are missing I can always just download from another computer and then copy the files over to install.
As I stated, I do not think this is a browser issue since it is affecting the "Windows check for updates". It must be a machine level issue of some sort. I was just using the browser to confirm that the machine it self can not access the website for updates.

Might also check the \windowsupdate.log file for errors or clues.
Here is the latest test to connect for update via the logs. Looks like its an sls issue of some sort? It has the same Schannel among other registry's as my other servers. Not sure why this one would be affected as is.

It appears to be a sls issue from the log's. I am looking over registry again. By chance do you know what reg entry might affect this?

0x80072EFE means that the network connection was interrupted while trying to get the update for install. May need to reach out to the ISP or possibly your network admins for assistance.

Do not believe its network related as far as I can tell. As stated above, similar servers on the same network/vlan have no issues. When doing connection test I get the following:
I did ask network to look into it and they see no blocking from the firewall. The test net should show an issues with the ISP. only 2 servers out of around 300 are having this issue and all would use the same route/isp.
Sounds good, the 0x80072EFE means that the network connection was interrupted.
