Hello

I'm making a cv on word in windows 11. When I finish I want to save it to desktop. I go to file, look for save. It only has Save As listed. I open that and and get the following drop down menu.

Save as

Save a copy online

Rename

rename this file

Download a copy

download a copy to your computer

Download as PDF

document to computer as PDF file

Download as ODT

document to computer as ODT file

I pick download a copy to your computer and it downloads but not as a word document. I go to downloads folder and the icon has no blue W on it. i open it and it opens in wordpad. Why cant I get to save it to desktop and why cant I save it as a word document. Its annoying to say the least!

Thanks for any help given

Tomas
